In a nutshell: We always use the standard ERP solution Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Dynamics NAV/Navision) as a basis and add other technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, the Microsoft Power Platform and industry-specific add-ons. If necessary, we also programme individual adaptations for you. This distinguishes us significantly from our competitors. Your system remains updateable and you remain independent of the partner company.

1 Standard ERP solution

“Surely our processes are far too individual for a standard solution?” Wrong! Experience shows that we can map around 90% of our projects in the standard Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The system standard includes all processes from the areas of finance, warehouse, supply chain, personnel, production & assembly, projects and service.

2Add-Ons and customisations

If the standard solution is not sufficient, we can easily solve some challenges with add-ons and products from Microsoft (e.g. Microsoft 365, Microsoft Power Platform).

Research and develop

In the biotech industry, research and development come first. Nevertheless, production must run effectively.

With Dynamics 365 Business Central you have an ideal IT basis. It enables you to calculate new products and manage parts lists. Different forms of production can also be mapped.

The following customisation is also possible and popular:

  • Document management (interface/add-on)

    For professional document management, we offer you an interface to third-party software (e.g. D3 or the fully integrated solution Document Capture). Manage documents anytime, anywhere.


Manage batches

The nature of the goods poses special challenges for warehouse management and batch management in the biotech sector. A lot of special information has to be stored here (e.g. cell tissue, ethnic origin). It is important to be able to track the entire flow of goods.

In Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can activate series and batch management and thus track batches in detail in the company. This enables you to see which batch was used for which process at which time and under which conditions. In the process, it is possible to only allow authorised persons to change batch information via the rights management. You always benefit from real-time data on stock levels.

In the production and shipping process, it is of course possible to split and mix batches.


Manage logistics

In addition, the shipment must be made in compliance with legal requirements (e.g. enclosure of certain documents). This also applies to customs clearance for foreign shipments. In addition, communication should be possible smoothly along the supply chain and digitally.

Dynamics 365 Business Central can support you very well in the area of warehousing. For example, when it comes to separating storage areas (e.g. cold storage).

In the area of logistics, the system cannot support you in all points. For this reason, the following adjustments are possible and popular:

  • Electronic Data Interchange (add-on)

    Anveo EDI makes it child’s play for you to exchange data

    • with your customers (e.g. orders, invoices, credit notes, shipping notifications, article data, availabilities, prices),
    • with partner companies (better business relations through automated processes),
    • with manufacturing companies (e.g. order processing, order confirmations, availabilities or delivery notes) or
    • between locations/clients (e.g. financial data and item information).
  • Supplier qualification (Power BI)

    With Power BI you can carry out a supplier evaluation according to soft and hard criteria.

  • Permanent inventory (customisation)

    When handling key date-related inventories, business operations are often closed for hours or days. In addition, external service companies are used for counts. This effort can be minimised by a permanent inventory. We offer you a solution that can be used in parallel to the daily business in Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Dynamics NAV/Navision). The inventory employees receive a personal stack with the count lists still to be processed (export from Dynamics 365 Business Central). After the count – for example using a scanner – the data is registered and transferred back to the standard of Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  • Route planning (interface)

    You can map a tour planning in Dynamics 365 Business Central. You assign individual items and thus sales lines to a vehicle and trigger picking and goods issue from the tour planning.

    For optimal route planning, we implement an interface to the software of a supplier company (e.g. Wanko). This allows you to optimise your tours – even across staff.

  • Dispatch Processing and Label Creation (Add-On)

    For optimal dispatch processing and label printing, we offer you an interface to the Comsol Multiship add-on.

  • Dispatch tracking via DPD, FedEx & Co. (interface)

    We can programme an interface to a third-party provider (e.g. DPD, FedEx) for shipment tracking.

    Prefabricated add-ons serve several service-providing companies at this point and require documents in paper form (e.g. invoice, delivery notes). Some companies work excellently with one company (e.g. FedEx) and want to get away from paper-based work. We can programme an interface for this (e.g. to FedEx) so that the dispatch runs completely digitally.

  • Certification (customisation)

    You have to prove certain certifications via the delivery note? No problem. We modify the standard slightly and enable you to use this function.

  • Customs clearance (customisation)

    Deliveries by biotech companies to regions such as the USA are associated with a lot of effort due to high requirements. To be more precise, numerous documents have to be enclosed with each shipment. So that you don’t have to do this manually and have to think of relevant documents, we programme a customisation for you with which you can automate this process.


Control quality

Quality comes first. This makes it important in the biotech sector to comply with legal requirements, so companies are bound by regulations and quality and process controls.

Dynamics 365 Business Central does not offer quality control functions.

In the system standard, Dynamics 365 Business Central offers extensive functions in the areas of invoicing, financial accounting and cost accounting, as well as reports to accelerate financial statements. In addition, the system automatically sends recommendations, for example, to take advantage of discounts or avoid overdue fines.

The following customisation is also possible and popular:

  • Collection (interface)

    Companies often outsource the collection of payments. To do this, we simply implement an interface to a debt collection company.

  • Direct Bank Connection (add-on)

    With windata’s confipay, you can transfer payment orders automatically and retrieve account transactions as well as PayPal transactions.

  • Elster (interface)

    We implement an interface for Elster exports for you.

  • Payment transactions (add-on)

    With the OPplus 365 add-on from Continia you can optimise your payment transactions (import and export) with manufacturing companies, trading companies or end customers. Automate your processes (clearing, preliminary account assignment, etc.) and get more transparency about your payments.

  • Payroll (add-on)

    With the add-on haveldata NAPA3, companies can map the entire payroll process in a structured and automated way.

  • XInvoice XML (add-on)

    With the help of BELWARE XRECHNUNG you can easily send invoices as XInvoice XML.
