The company Kümmel & Co. GmbH is a family-run textile company from Kitzingen, founded in 1965, which specializes in the production of high-quality shirts and blouses for professional use.
With its approximately 20 employees, Kümmel specializes in different target groups such as companies and schools. With the Mainstick brand, Kümmel regionally equips companies, practices and clubs with team clothing in Mainfranken, which is embroidered or printed in the company’s own embroidery shop. With the Dress for School brand, the company is one of the leading suppliers of school clothing in Germany.
“Before we decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV with anaptis GmbH (formerly Infosim GmbH & Co. KG) in 2018, we worked with a tool that was specifically tailored to the textile industry. At some point, the tool was no longer updateable and was severely outdated. For example, we were either unable to call up economic key figures at all or only in a very cumbersome way. In addition, we developed a number of wishes for a new system:
We hoped for a simple representation of our complex sales process. After all, we have three components: Color, size, special order (e.g. extra long shirt).
We also wanted to simplify our packaging licensing to meet the requirements of the German Packaging Act (VerpackG).
In addition, we wanted to connect our school stores (based on Shopware), where parents can directly order school clothes for their children online, to our ERP system.
Lastly, we wanted a more efficient way of dealing with committees. After all, we have the challenge that we can hardly estimate how much fabric will be used before production. Lastly, we finally wanted diverse and user-friendly controlling options.”

About our individual wishes:
We solved our complex sales process by matrix views. Color, size and special design result in a variant. The storage location and availability are checked automatically. In addition, the display is very clear.
We now comply with the requirements of the German Packaging Act (VerpackG) as follows: We can now enter the data on sales packaging directly in Dynamics NAV. As soon as it is necessary, we can export a tabular report on which sales packaging was delivered with date, weight and packaging type. We can then easily report this to the central reporting register LUCID and to the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister.
We have also connected our individual school stores (based on Shopware) to Dynamics NAV, so that we can now send documents such as order confirmations from Dynamics NAV.
Lastly, anaptis (or Infosim) built us a customization for simplified handling of production rejects.”
